Amaya W3C WYSIWYG Editor
Amaya The W3C Editor
Amaya is a free and open source web authoring tool with browsing abilities, developed and maintained by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the main international standards organization for the World Wide Web.
Amaya is a tool used to create and update documents directly on the Web. Browsing features are seamlessly integrated with the editing and remote access features in a uniform environment. The main motivation for developing Amaya according with WWW Consortium is "to provide a framework that can integrate as many W3C technologies as possible". It is also used to demonstrate these technologies in action while taking advantage of their combination in a single, consistent environment.
Amaya includes a web browser and a FTP client, so it covers all those aspects used by a website developer in one place and under the same interface, just imagine how useful is to search on internet while your editing or creating your pages, copy and paste text directly from the browser without an external application, when your work is finished just upload it, knowing that the code is W3C validated

coding.
KompoZer is as complete as many commercial web authoring applications such as Adobe DreamWeawer and Microsoft FrontPage but for free.
KompoZer is based on Gecko, which is a layout engine currently developed by Mozilla Corporation, know as the layout engine of the Firefox web browser; it's a super-fast, very reliable, standards conformant engine maintained on a daily basis by a wide community of developers. Its remarkable support of XML, CSS and JavaScript offers the best authoring platform on the market.
Its architecture based on XUL (the XML User Interface Language, an XML user interface markup language developed by the Mozilla project,) makes it the most extensible editing tool ever.
KompoZer interface is very similar to DreamWeaver's interface. It is also multiplatform so it is available for Desktop Linux, Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh users.
Main Features
- FTP site manager; You can get a tree view of a site Explorer's style folders pane, or a one-dir-only view, it is also possible to filter files and show all files, or only HTML documents or image files.
- Color picker; KompoZer has a new extended colorpicker, more conformant to what most users are used to. it allows to set a color from its red blue and green components, or its hue saturation and brightness.
- Tabs; From one window only on your screen you can edit several documents at once, each document having its own Undo/Redo stack
- CSS editor; create stylesheets easily and manage the styles attached to your documents. You can see your style settings applied '"live" to the document you're editing.

- XFN (XHTML Friends Network) is a simple way to represent human relationships using hyperlinks. XFN enables web authors to indicate their relationship(s) to the people in their blogrolls simply by adding a 'rel' attribute to their <a href> tags, in other words, when you create a new link to an external resource, or when you edit an existing link, you can now add XHTML Friends Network information to say that the owner of that resource is someone you know and trust.
- Visible marks; in a complex page layout, you often need to see visible carriage returns and block borders. KompoZer can now do that for you. And of course, everything is controlled by a CSS stylesheet so you can customize those marks and replace them by your own.
- Table/Cell resizing rulers
- Automated Spellchecker The integrated in-line spellchecker will underline all misspelled words as you type to ensure correct spelling throughout the entire web page.
